1. Purpose and Scope

At Rock Rabbit, we are committed to protecting our users’ privacy and personal information. Our website, mobile app, web app, or other online services (individually and collectively, “App”) collect a variety of information from users in order to achieve our mission of making future-proofing homes easy and affordable for everyone.

We have established and implemented this Privacy Policy to inform users of our App about our privacy practices, including what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it.

2. Effective Date and Changes to this Policy

This Privacy Policy is effective as of the date above and will remain in effect until a new policy supersedes it. We may choose to update this Privacy Policy at our discretion, so you should check this page periodically as the terms may change from time-to-time. The most recent version of the Policy will be reflected by the “Effective” date noted at the top of the page. In the event of a material change to this Privacy Policy, we will provide a conspicuous message through the App. Your continued use of the App will constitute your acknowledgment of this Policy in its current version and your understanding of the terms of this Policy.

3. The Information We Collect

To deliver our services, we may collect personal data from a variety of sources, including directly from an individual and automatically when an individual interacts with the App. The types of personal information we may collect and process about you can include:

  • Identity and contact information, such as your first and last name, email address, property address, mailing address, phone number, tax identification number, utility information such as account identification number, online identifier, Internet Protocol address, unique device identifiers and other device information;
  • Profile and consent data, including marketing preferences, survey responses, and correspondence;
  • Household appliance, property and project information, including photos of appliances, electrical panels, contracts, invoices, permits and other documentation for instance required by incentive applications;
  • Internet or other electronic network activity information, including information regarding your interaction with our App to understand how our users are making use of our App so that we can improve it over time;
  • Commercial information, including for instance information that is required to complete incentive applications such as records of appliances purchased and installed, invoice and past payment information, records of services purchased, obtained or considered on the App, and other purchasing or consuming histories or tendencies;
  • Professional or employment-related information for contractors using the platform, such as your employer, title, professional skills and certifications; and
  • Geolocation information, for instance to provide validation of the location of a home upgrade project.

4. How We Use Your Personal Information

We use or otherwise process your personal information to:

  • Manage your relationship with us;
  • Respond to your inquiries or requests, complaints, and request feedback;
  • Provide goods or services requested by, or reasonably anticipated by, you;
  • Provide you with relevant promotional materials or information about the company, its products, its outcomes, and opportunities to get more involved;
  • Deliver targeted advertising to you;
  • Display your reviews of our services;
  • Administer contests, promotions, or surveys;
  • Analyze your use of the App and choice of third party retailers and/or contractors;
  • Detect security incidents and protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity or prosecute those responsible;
  • Comply with legal requirements;
  • Carry out any other purpose we may describe when an individual provides the information; and
  • Carry out any other lawful, legitimate, business purpose.


We may also use anonymized and aggregate information in communication with incentive providers, policy makers, and other stakeholders to inform them on the current status, trends, and performance of incentive programs and potential opportunities for improvement.

5. How We Disclose Your Personal Information

We disclose your personal information to the following categories of third-parties, where applicable:

  • Service providers and suppliers, including IT outsourcing, marketing, technology providers, and customer management who help us deliver or improve our service or who perform services on our behalf.
  • Incentive providers and their third party services providers including for instance community energy agencies, state governments, local governments, regional governments and districts, non-governmental organizations, corporations, and regional energy networks, in connection with discovering, reserving and claiming incentives;
  • Local contractors, for instance in connection with completing incentive applications and requesting project bids.  
  • Advisers and financial institutions, including legal, tax, auditors, risk and compliance, notaries, and business continuity support services;
  • Where permitted by applicable laws, to third parties in connection with a corporate restructuring, sale, transfer or assignment of assets or business, merger, divestiture, or other changes to the company’s control or financial status (or any of our affiliates); and
  • Government bodies and dispute resolution and law enforcement organizations, as applicable.

We may also share information with others in an aggregated or otherwise anonymized form.

6. Cookies and Other Data Collection Technologies

We and our third-party partners may automatically collect certain types of usage information through a variety of data collection technologies, including cookies, web beacons, embedded scripts, location-identifying technologies, file information and similar technology (collectively, “cookies”) to deliver and improve our App. For example, we may collect information about an individual’s device and its software, such as IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, platform type, device type, operating system, date and time stamp, and other similar information.

You can control and prevent the use of certain cookies by modifying your Internet browser or mobile device settings, typically under the sections “Help” or “Internet Options.”  Please note, however, that if you disable or delete certain cookies, you may not be able to access or use important functions or features of the App.  

Our App uses analytics collection and analysis software to log certain activities while you use the App for analytical purposes. This information helps us understand your preferences and tendencies, as well as improve and personalize your experience while using our App. You can prevent the logging of certain events by limiting the permissions you provide to the mobile application, (e.g., GPS, camera).

7. Your Privacy Choices

If you no longer want to receive our newsletter, emails or other marketing communications, you may unsubscribe at any time by following the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of our emails and the “Stop” option at the bottom of our texts, or by emailing us at the address listed in the Contact Us section below. Please note that you cannot unsubscribe from certain correspondence from us, such as messages relating directly to account verification, confirmation of project-related transactions, or legal notices.

With exceptions, you may be able to view, amend, or delete your information via our App or by contacting us as detailed below.

8. Data Retention

We will retain your personal information no longer than is required to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law. We will keep personal data relating to your continued usage of the App for as long as you remain a user, plus a reasonable period of time following cessation of our services.

9. Security

We will take commercially reasonable physical, technical and organizational measures to preserve the integrity and security of all information we collect. We encrypt all data within our systems at rest where technically and commercially feasible. Access to all data is encrypted in transit. For services provided by third parties, we ensure that, at a minimum, confidential and financial data are encrypted at rest, and access to all data is encrypted in transit. Only secure access (such as HTTPS or WSS) is possible on the App.

We value your trust in providing your personal data to us, and we will use all reasonable and commercially acceptable means to protect it. Still, unfortunately, no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable. In the event that any information under our control is compromised as a result of a breach of security, we will take reasonable steps to investigate the situation. Where appropriate, we will notify those individuals whose information may have been compromised as well as take additional steps in accordance with any applicable laws and regulations.

10. Third-Party Links

In an attempt to provide increased value and convenience, we may link to various third-party websites from within our App. We have no control over these linked sites, each of which has separate privacy and data collection practices independent from us. As such, we have no responsibility or liability for these independent policies or actions and are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of any such websites. We encourage our visitors to review the privacy policies of any site or service before providing any personal information.
