Rock Rabbit launched Daikin’s contractor-facing platform that distills a complex process into three simple steps: find, submit, and get paid.
Energy efficiency incentives are one of the most powerful tools for making high-performance HVAC equipment affordable. Thousands of programs exist across the country, each with its own eligibility rules, application requirements, and deadlines.
For busy contractors, that complexity alone has been enough to leave significant rebate dollars on the table.
Daikin Comfort Technologies North America recognized that their contractor network was facing exactly this problem. Contractors selling Daikin equipment had access to a wide landscape of available incentives, but the friction involved in finding and applying for rebates was limiting adoption.
Daikin partnered with Rock Rabbit to change that.
The Challenge: Complexity That Kept Contractors on the Sidelines
State, local, and utility rebate programs are abundant, but they're also fragmented and difficult to navigate. Program eligibility varies by address, efficiency requirements differ across programs, and submitting applications often means manual paperwork, long delays, and a frustrating rate of denials.
The Solution: The Daikin Energy Rebate Center, Powered by Rock Rabbit
Rock Rabbit’s technology powers the Daikin Energy Rebate Center (DERC): a contractor-facing platform that distills a complex process into three simple steps: Find. Submit. Get Paid.
The platform is built around the way contractors work:
- Address-Level Incentive Discovery: Rock Rabbit uses granular, address-level data to identify every applicable rebate for a given job location. The platform surfaces relevant incentives instantly.
- Guided, Error-Free Applications: Once incentives are identified, Rock Rabbit walks contractors through a streamlined application process with real-time eligibility checks. If something is missing, like a model number, a receipt, or a photo of the existing system, the contractor is notified immediately. That catches errors before they are submitted and eliminates the back-and-forth over claims.
- AI-Powered Accuracy on the Backend: Rock Rabbit's advanced software and AI infrastructure automates the complexity of program rules behind the scenes, giving contractors a clean, confident experience on the front end.
The Results: A 100% Acceptance Rate at Launch
The results reflect the quality of the platform's underlying logic. Since launching with Rock Rabbit’s technology, DERC has achieved a 100% acceptance rate for contractor applications. That’s a direct result of the real-time validation and guided application process built into the platform.
"You don't have to know what energy rebates are available, what the SEER2 requirements are, you don't even need to visit the programs' websites," said Matt Baker, National Manager of Energy Efficiency and Electrification Programs for Daikin. "We determine all that on the backend. Contractors just go in and tell us, 'This is what I'm selling, what do I get?' It's very, very simple."
For Daikin's contractor network, that means fewer rejections, faster payments, and more sales.
